Scissor Lift Rental β From the 6-Metre Electric Scissor to the 34-Metre Rough-Terrain Machine
Anyone looking to lift materials and personnel vertically needs a scissor lift that matches the task at hand β not one that just βsomehowβ fits. At Luibl Rental & Sales, you rent scissor aerial work platforms from a rental fleet that ranges from the narrow electric scissor for standard doorways to the 34-metre rough-terrain machine with a 1,000 kg load capacity. Delivery comes from a network of over 200 locations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other European countries β using our own low-loader fleet.
The selection differs along three clear criteria: drive type (electric, diesel, bi-energy, hybrid), design (standard or narrow-aisle scissor) and terrain capability (warehouse floor vs. shell construction). Anyone who understands these three criteria will make the right machine choice in 90% of cases.
The Three Main Types in the Rental Fleet
Electric Scissor Lifts for Warehouses, Interior Fit-Out and Logistics
Electric scissor lifts are the standard solution for anything that happens under a roof: warehouse construction, warehouse refurbishment, ventilation installation, fire alarm systems, electrical installation, drywall construction, exhibition stand building. The rental fleet covers working heights from 6.30 m to 33.00 m.
-
Quiet and emission-free thanks to pure battery operation β approved for indoor spaces, food-processing facilities and turnkey warehouses
-
Non-marking tyres on almost all models β no scuffing on industrial and warehouse floors
-
Narrow-track models from 0.76 m width (e.g. KB Lift S-78N, Genie GS 1432m E-Drive) β fit through standard doorways
-
Load capacities from 227 kg to 1,000 kg
-
Manufacturers available in the fleet: Magni, Holland Lift, HAB, Genie, KB Lift, PB
Diesel Scissor Lifts for Shell Construction, Facades and Outdoor Sites
Diesel scissor lifts are designed for unpaved ground, shell-construction sites and facade work. Where an electric machine reaches its limits in range or terrain capability, the diesel scissor lift takes over.
-
All-wheel drive (4x4) and oscillating axle β handle gradients and uneven terrain
-
Hydraulic outriggers β level the machine even on sloped ground
-
Generously sized platforms with slide-outs β working areas from 7 to over 9 metres in length on the top models
-
Load capacities up to 1,000 kg (Magni DS3225RT, Holland Lift Megastar G320, Liftlux 260-25)
-
Working heights up to 34 m (Holland Lift Megastar G320: 33.70 m, Magni DS3225RT: 32 m)
Narrow-Aisle Scissor Lifts for Logistics Centres
Narrow-aisle scissor lifts are the specialist class for modern logistics centres, where conventional machines are either too wide or too low. They combine extreme working height with a narrow footprint and β depending on the model β the ability to drive at full working height.
-
Working heights from 18.50 m to 33.00 m for the topmost rack levels
-
Narrow-aisle capable β matched to the aisle widths of common high-bay warehouses
-
Load capacities of 500 to 1,000 kg for stocktaking, maintenance, sprinkler installation and warehouse conversion
-
Manufacturers in the fleet: Holland Lift, HAB, PB, Magni
-
Flagship model: Holland Lift HL330_E14_4WDS with 33 m working height
Choosing the Right Scissor Lift β Five Decision Criteria
Instead of a long list of models, a short review of your own requirements helps far more. These five points are most often decisive in consultations:
-
Working height: Working height is roughly 2 metres above platform height β that's the operator's reach zone. Anyone working at 12 m height needs a machine with a 10 m platform height.
-
Platform load capacity: People, tools and material combined. For two fitters plus tools, 350 to 450 kg is realistic; for sprinkler installation, ventilation assembly or drywall work, 600 to 1,000 kg is more typical.
-
Ground surface: Smooth warehouse floor = electric with non-marking tyres. Shell construction, gravel, sloped terrain = diesel all-wheel-drive version.
-
Width and clearance height: Do you need to pass through doors, gates or lifts? The narrowest models in the fleet are under 0.77 m wide.
-
Drive type and power availability: On sites without comprehensive power supply, bi-energy or hybrid machines make sense, as they can switch between diesel and electric operation.
If you're unsure, it's worth calling our rental advisory team β choosing the right equipment usually saves more overall than the rental price difference between individual classes.
Drive Types Compared
Electric (battery): Indoor use, logistics, commercial warehouses, sensitive environments. Quiet, emission-free, charges from a standard 230 V outlet. Range limited to a single working day on a full charge.
Diesel: Shell construction, outdoor sites, facade work, industrial sites. Highest load capacity and terrain performance. Stage V engines on current models.
Bi-Energy / Hybrid: Long outdoor deployments without a power connection, followed by indoor use. Diesel for travelling, electric for emission-free work inside the warehouse. Useful on sites with changing conditions.
Safety & Statutory Inspection Requirements
Every scissor lift in the Luibl Rental fleet undergoes the recurring inspection required under the Swiss Accident Prevention Ordinance (VUV) and is checked by our workshop staff before every delivery. Standard equipment includes: a tilt alarm, overload protection (blocks lifting when the rated load is exceeded), a mechanical emergency lowering system, and emergency lowering from ground level on both sides.
For safe operation: operating personnel must be instructed in accordance with the VUV and the SUVA and EKAS guidelines. Personal fall-arrest equipment (PSAgA) is mandatory on the platform. If you need training for your staff, we can refer you to certified training partners (IPAF/PAL-Card certified). A technician can be requested on demand throughout the entire rental period.
