Before selecting a machine, clarify the following parameters:

Working Height vs. Platform Height

Platform height is approximately 2 m below the stated working height. What matters for machine selection is the actual standing height of the technician – not the manufacturer's figure on the datasheet.

Outreach

Indicates how far horizontally the platform can reach beyond an obstacle. Decisive for parapets, roof overhangs or installations that cannot be driven underneath.

Basket Load / Load Capacity

Platform load capacities range from 200 to 450 kg depending on the model. Tools, materials and all personnel in the basket must be calculated together.

Load Moment Limiter

An electronic safety system that automatically prevents overloading and unstable outreach positions. Legally required and active as standard on all Luibl rental machines.

Ground Pressure

Indicates the load per square centimetre exerted on the ground. For underground car park ceilings, industrial floors and compaction-sensitive surfaces, coordinate in advance with a structural engineer.

Note on levelling: Modern telescopic boom lifts allow automatic platform levelling up to a defined ground inclination angle. Values outside this tolerance require support plates or an alternative machine.

There is no flat rental price – the calculation depends on several factors:

• Machine type & working height: Small telescopic boom lifts up to 20 m are significantly cheaper than 40 m+ machines

• Rental duration: Weekly and monthly rentals offer significant savings compared to daily rates; long-term rentals often already include inspection in accordance with VUV and maintenance

• Transport distance: Delivery via our own low-loader is calculated based on distance and effort

• Special equipment: Specific tyres (rough-terrain, hard-floor), basket size or additional equipment can affect the price

In Switzerland and Austria, no separate driving licence is required to operate aerial work platforms. However, clear qualification requirements apply:

The VUV / SUVA guidelines (including EKAS) (operation of aerial work platforms) require documented operator training. The employer is responsible for the qualification of its staff.

IPAF training (International Powered Access Federation) is the recognised industry standard for operator qualification – especially for international projects and large enterprises.
