1. Indoors or outdoors? In halls, warehouses and production, the electric forklift operates emission-free on site and with low noise. For tough outdoor use with power reserves and no charging breaks, the diesel forklift is the more robust choice. If you need to cover both, the gas forklift is the usual compromise.

2. How firm is the ground? On gravel, soil or construction site terrain you need an all-terrain forklift with all-wheel drive, coarse-tread tires and more ground clearance. An indoor forklift loses traction there.

3. How heavy and how bulky is the load? Beyond the usual classes, the heavy-duty forklift takes over. Weight is not the only factor: the nominal capacity refers to a load center of 500 mm – with deeper loads, the actual capacity decreases.

4. Is it about stacking in the warehouse rather than transport? Then the high-lift stacker is the more compact and more economical solution compared to a counterbalance forklift.

The rental price depends less on the manufacturer than on four technical factors – and on the rental period:

• Drive: Electric, diesel and gas forklifts differ in purchase and running costs. All-terrain forklifts with all-wheel drive are priced above comparable indoor units.
• Lift height and mast type: Free lift, triplex masts or special overall heights for low ceilings affect the rate.
• Attachments: Side shifters, fork positioners, bale clamps or work platforms are calculated separately.
