Electric forklifts are suitable for all indoor applications free of exhaust emissions. In the pharmaceutical industry and in food processing operations, locally emission-free technology is mandatory. Modern lithium-ion technology enables multi-shift operation without long charging interruptions.

Diesel forklifts are the choice for outdoor use – at the Rhine port, on construction sites or at outdoor storage facilities. Stage V engines comply with current emissions standards.

LPG forklifts offer speed through cylinder changes in minutes instead of charging times in hours – relevant for logistics operations with continuous warehouse movement.

In Switzerland, VUV Art. 8 in conjunction with the SUVA and EKAS directives governs the requirements for safe forklift operation. Key obligations for hirers:

Driving authorisation and qualification: Only instructed operators with written authorisation may drive forklifts. The forklift operator licence recognised in Switzerland in accordance with the SUVA and EKAS specifications is the recommended proof of qualification.

Regular inspection: Forklifts must be inspected at defined intervals by a competent person. Luibl rental machines are inspected before every delivery – the inspection record is supplied with the machine.

Instruction obligation: Luibl Rental hands over every machine with complete operating instructions and safety information – including the load capacity chart, handling with attachments and driving behaviour on gradients.

The machines also comply with the relevant SN EN standards for industrial trucks. If you deploy machines across the border outside Switzerland, the respective national regulations for operation at the place of use apply in addition.
