Three machine classes are often used interchangeably in search, but they are technically clearly separated:

• Classic wheel loader — Articulated frame, rigid lifting arm directly in front of the vehicle, large bucket. Designed for bulk handling of loose materials (sand, gravel, crushed stone, topsoil). Typical applications: quarries, waste disposal yards, building material depots, earthworks. Manitou does not build its own large wheel loaders — the brands in this market segment are Volvo, Liebherr, Cat and Komatsu.

• Compact loader — Compact articulated loader, comparable to a small wheel loader but lighter and more manoeuvrable. For agriculture, equestrian yards, waste disposal yards and construction firms working in confined conditions. Manitou offers the MLA range (telescopic wheel loaders) as a hybrid solution here.

• Telescopic wheel loader (Manitou MLA) — Articulated loader with an additional telescopic lifting arm. Combines the bucket efficiency of a wheel loader with greater reach. Luibl Rental's live rental fleet does not list Manitou MLA telescopic wheel loaders or MLT agricultural machines as standard models. What Luibl does offer:

• Manitou telehandlers with bucket attachment — The MT series (e.g. MT 625, MT 1440, MT 1840) and the MRT Roto models can be equipped with an earth bucket. For occasional bulk material tasks on building construction sites this is the most efficient solution, because one machine covers pallet transport, bulk material and lifting height.

• General wheel loaders, compact loaders and grabs — Available from Luibl's construction machinery fleet without a brand-specific commitment. Concrete availability on request — what is delivered is what matches the application profile.

The most common practical application for customers looking at Manitou with a bulk material requirement: the Manitou MT 625. At 1.92 m overall height and 1.82 m width it manoeuvres through narrow passages, gateways and into low underground car parks. Load capacity 2,500 kg, lifting height 5.85 m. Fitted with an earth bucket, the MT 625 becomes a compact bulk material tool — sand, gravel and chippings can be picked up, transported and tipped at heights of up to 5 metres, which a classic wheel loader cannot do.

Typical in practice: landscaping and gardening with material supply on tight inner-city plots, event logistics with a bulk material share, and building construction logistics with mixed pallet transport and material pick-up. The quick-change system lets you swap the bucket for pallet forks, a load hook or a rotator within minutes — a flexibility a classic wheel loader does not offer.

Two factors decide:

• Bulk material volume is the main task — If you have to move cubic metres of crushed stone, sand, topsoil or recycled material every day, a classic wheel loader is the more efficient machine. • Lifting height, reach or mixed use dominate — As soon as material has to be lifted to height, stacked in high racking or switched between bulk material pick-up and pallet transport, a Manitou telehandler with a bucket is the more economical solution. In borderline cases — for example agricultural yard work with silage, manure handling and pallet transport — a Manitou MLT telehandler (the agricultural MT variant with a larger Stage V engine) or an MLA machine is the ideal combination.
