Our Zoomlion rental fleet is aimed at a gap the market left open for a long time: high working heights without a combustion engine. All three machines come from the ZT series, the telescopic boom range from Zoomlion Access, and were built in 2024.

Zoomlion ZT18JE-Li – 20.60 m working height

The most compact of the three machines. 13.30 m outreach, 300 kg lifting capacity, 8,600 kg unladen weight and a transport height of only 2.57 m. The entry point into the electric telescopic class when space is tight.

Zoomlion ZT21JE-Li – 22.95 m working height

Three-section boom, 15.50 m outreach and dual lifting capacity: up to 454 kg within the restricted working envelope. That allows two fitters to go up with their tools and material in a single lift.

Zoomlion ZT26JE – 28.70 m working height

The largest machine in the Zoomlion fleet, with 22.10 m outreach and an 80-volt lithium system. A height class that is otherwise offered almost exclusively with diesel drive.

All three platforms feature a turntable with 360° continuous rotation, a platform that swivels by ±90° and a jib that makes it possible to reach working points behind and above obstacles.

The common reservation about electric platforms is: fine for the hall, unsuitable for the construction site. That does not apply to the ZT series. The machines run on a rough-terrain chassis with four-wheel drive and a permanently active oscillating axle and handle gradients of up to 45 % (24°). The tyres are foam-filled, so punctures are no longer a cause of downtime.

The energy is supplied by lithium-ion systems – 51.2 and 51.52 volts respectively on the two smaller machines, 80 volts on the ZT26JE. Compared with conventional lead-acid batteries, this provides more usable capacity at a lower weight and with considerably shorter charging times. The drive and lift systems use maintenance-free electric motors.

For operations this means three things: no local exhaust emissions, a noticeably lower noise level and no fuel logistics on site – no jerry cans, no refuelling, no storage of substances hazardous to water.

An electric drive is not an end in itself. There are specific situations in which it decides whether a job can be carried out at all:

• Maintenance during ongoing operation. In production halls, logistics centres and warehouses where staff are permanently present, a diesel platform is generally ruled out.
• Emission requirements in city centres. Low-emission zones and project-specific requirements increasingly exclude combustion engines.
• Night and weekend work close to residential areas. Noise protection requirements are far easier to meet with a battery-powered machine.
• Enclosed areas. Underground car parks, multi-storey car parks, tunnels and halls without sufficient ventilation.
• Sensitive production environments. Food, pharmaceutical and electronics manufacturing with air quality requirements.

If one of these situations also calls for a working height beyond 20 metres, the choice on the market quickly becomes thin. That is exactly why we added the Zoomlion ZT series to our rental fleet.

Safety, Inspections and Training

Every machine in our rental fleet is serviced in accordance with DIN EN 280 and undergoes regular statutory accident prevention inspections (UVV). The German Industrial Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV) and the DGUV rules apply to the operation of mobile elevating work platforms: operators require instruction and a written authorisation from the employer. Our training courses provide the relevant qualifications.

For all work on telescopic boom lifts we recommend suitable personal fall protection equipment (PFPE), and we support you in selecting the right machine based on load charts, the set-up area and the ground conditions at your site.
