Forklift Licence in Passau: Courses and Local Providers

Anyone who wants to obtain a forklift licence – in Germany called "Staplerschein", a driving permit for industrial trucks – in Passau or in the Lower Bavaria region has various options: regional training providers, chamber courses, supra-regional certification bodies with branches in the region and in-house courses where suitable infrastructure is available.

Passau is conveniently located on the border with Austria and the Czech Republic. This affects the range of courses: in addition to German providers, there are also courses close to the border – however, Austrian and Czech course providers do not necessarily meet the German DGUV standard. For appointment in German companies, DGUV-compliant training is a prerequisite.

Important: Luibl Rental does not offer forklift courses itself. As a Europe-wide rental company for forklifts, we know our customers' training needs from practice and therefore give an honest overview of the regional range of courses.

The following overview describes typical types of providers in the Passau/Lower Bavaria area. Specific course dates and current prices should be requested directly from the providers, as course calendars and prices change regularly.

Dekra / TUEV Rheinland (supra-regional providers with a regional presence) Dekra and TUEV Rheinland offer forklift courses at locations throughout Bavaria, including Regensburg, Landshut and Straubing – easily accessible from Passau (60–90 minutes). Courses in a 2-day format; one-day courses for experienced operators on request.

IHK Niederbayern / WIFI (Passau and surroundings) The IHK Niederbayern (Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Lower Bavaria) and WIFI offer part-time qualifications, occasionally also forklift courses in Passau or Deggendorf. Current course calendar: enquire directly with the IHK in Passau.

Regional providers approved by the BG Several training providers recognised by the German employers' liability insurance associations (Berufsgenossenschaften) are active in the Lower Bavaria region. They can be found via the course search on the websites of BG Handel und Warenlogistik or BG Bau (search by postcode).

In-house training at the company For companies in Passau and the surrounding area that want to train several employees (6 or more people), in-house training by a mobile training provider is an efficient alternative. The provider comes to the company and uses the existing practice area and the company's own forklifts. Usually cheaper than individual bookings.

Course prices in the Lower Bavaria region at a glance:

• One-day course (1 day): 180–320 euros
• Standard course (2 days): 280–520 euros
• In-house group (8 or more people): flat-rate offer on request

Course dates: In rural areas, forklift courses are not available every day. Registering 4–8 weeks in advance is recommended. Supra-regional providers with a course network throughout Bavaria (Dekra, TUEV) offer more date options.

Funding: The education voucher (Bildungsgutschein) of the German Federal Employment Agency also applies in the Passau area – AZAV-approved providers can be found via the Federal Agency's funding database.
